Experience Sky Park Santa’s Village

Each year, around this time, I research different places our family can go to get into the Holiday spirit. We recently discovered the gem ofSkypark at Santa’s Villagein Lake Arrowhead. It is a North Pole-themed outdoor adventure park tucked in the San Bernadino National Forest. Whether you are looking for a break from the slopes at Big Bear or need a day trip for the family, Santa’s Village is a great option.

Upon arrival, you feel like you are transported into a Christmas movie. The park is made up of a historic log cabin village and during the holiday season it is transformed into a little Winter Wonderland. Twinkling lights, lollipop-lined walkways and even a gingerbread coffeehouse, will help you feel like you are at the North Pole. The crisp mountain air is refreshing.

Activities for All Ages

Whether you have toddlers, teenagers or young-at-heart adults in your group, there is something for everyone. Our toddler couldn’t get enough of the Arrow’s Adventure, where guests hop on a pedal car and go through an “ice cave” and more. He also loved the Discovery Playscape. He wasn’t quite big enough to go on the zipline, but there was a mini-zipline he rode several times. We cheered daddy and his older cousin on the big zipline. They swung through the trees while overlooking the mountains. Little guy also loved the different obstacles course elements and playhouse too. His favorite part of the park was probably the Strider Balance Trail. He enjoyed watching the “big guys” ride the more advanced trails while he did the Strider trail for those just starting out. My favorite part of the park was the ice skating. I enjoyed trying to teach the little guy how to skate and took in a few laps on my own too. You don’t have to worry about rentals it is all included in the admission. For those that prefer to cheer from the sidelines, there are plenty of heat lamps and benches too.

Slowing Down at Santa’s Village

For those that prefer a slower pace or need a break from the activities, there are plenty of options. From face painting and magicians to puppet shows, families can enjoy a cup of hot chocolate and take in a show. Our favorite part was writing a letter to Santa, dropping it in the mailbox, and then going to visit him at his house. Another highlight was the different characters that you meet as you walk along the paths. Guests can also have brunch with Santa, tea with Mrs. Claus or do crafts with the elves for a cost.  We finished off the night with the dusk parade and tree lighting. It was a fun way to kick off the holiday season.

Fun Year Round

Skypark is home to activities that you can enjoy year round including a climbing wall and bouldering room, archery, hiking, and fishing. The park is a popular spot for mountain biking as well. Bikers of all skill-levels will enjoy the collection of trails. There are even gear rentals for those that want to check it out but may not have the right equipment.

We were guests of Santa’s Village. All of our thoughts and opinions are our own.
