It was a star-studded night in Los Angeles all celebrating The Boys in the Boat.

This sports drama is based on the #1 New York Times bestselling non-fiction book written by Daniel James Brown and directed by George Clooney. It’s about the 1936 University of Washington rowing team that competed for gold at the Summer Olympics in Berlin. This inspirational true story follows a group of underdogs at the height of the Great Depression as they are thrust into the spotlight and take on elite rivals from around the world.

The Boys in the Boat in theatres Christmas Day

REVIEW: As you’ll hear when I talking with Clooney, this is my favorite movie of the year! True stories always top my list and in The Boys in the Boat, the pairing of history with the emotion of a team sport is the perfect blending to make a film where many already know the ending, a success. Incredibly well cast and full of hope, great for the whole family to enjoy this Christmas.
