Whether you’ve taken trips throughout the year or just constantly feel like you’re on-the-go, Family Entourage is here with gift ideas for families that align with a lifestyle that keeps you moving!
Cruise in Comfort and Family-Matching Style
First tip and gift idea when you think about moving all the time, traveling, and being on the go is comfort! You want to be comfortable, and then we elevate it to say, and match your family too! We’re all wearing Hanna Andersson, and we love their robust family matching pajama collection from traditional to your favorite movie themes like Elf and Polar Express.
Makes for a fun Christmas Eve gift, and family unwraps and then all call wear and wake up in the morning in style. Plus have Christmas sweaters, beanies and more that all coordinate.
Houses for the Holidays
As you bounce around family members and friend’s homes, help your kids think a little deeper about the blessing of Christmas and understand what it means to help others and serve… thanks to Houses for the Holidays, it can be a fun and delicious lesson. Lazy Dog Restaurants which are all over, and one right in Roseville, have DIY Gingerbread House kits where you not only build a tasty house, but also helps build a physical house for someone in need through Habitat for Humanity. Kits are only $7.50 and 100% of net proceeds go toward building homes in the community.
Lazy Dog Restaurants, is a casual dining restaurant. If you’re headed to the restaurant, you can build your gingerbread while you wait for your food. The kids’ menu has a “blueprint” that they can color and come up with their design and then they can build away. We also love the idea of enjoying one of Lazy Dog’s family meals and getting a couple of kits and having a competition with friends and family or you can even try one of their new Lazy Dog’s TV Dinners into the oven and while your TV Dinner cooks, enjoy this fun activity with your family. Both are available for takeout and delivery.
Art Activities On-the-Go
Keeping little hands busy whether you’re at a restaurant, traveling to grandma’s for the feast or just need kids to have crafts that provide independence from parents so you can attend to the cooking in the kitchen or socialize with guests, there are many ways for creativity through art activities. Give the gift earlier or makes for a perfect stocking stuffer. One of our favorites is the new Wixels sets from Crayola. Inexpensive and reusable — two key words! — innovative way to do pixel art while teaching concentration and patience in a creative way. Once done can show off masterpieces and display in house.
Photo Memories Turned Gifts
Don’t keep all your photos from your vacations, travels and holiday activities on your phone, but rather think about using your printer for more than work or copies, and use it as a photo print center! Literally all you need is some nice HP photo paper that can load into any computer.
We use the HP Envy Printer, but you can use your own home computer, and take photo paper, print pictures and then use those to create family ornaments, frames or even gift tags. We love selecting a photo from a trip or special memory, printing it out and pairing it with a unique frame.
Another fun idea is to print out photos from all of the holiday adventures and use washi tape and stickers to create fun borders. This is something easy that kids can do and makes a thoughtful gift for others. We also love that HP has lots of fun printables for the holiday season. They have gift tags and photo ornament templates, plus lots more to explore and create.
