Easter Table Ideas

Easter is just days away and whether you are hosting brunch or dinner at your house, we have some ideas to dress your table up for spring. One of the fun things about an Easter table scape is that it can last throughout the spring. The best part is that you don’t have to break the bank! Whatever you end up doing, we wish you and your family a happy Easter.

  1. Use what you already have. Just because it is a holiday or special occasion, doesn’t mean you have to go out and buy everything new. It can be apothecary jars, vases, or pie pedestals. We love taking our apothecary jars and filling them with different things to highlight the holiday. It can be eggs that your family has dyed, Easter candy or even jelly beans. You can even use marshmallows for “bunny tails.”
  2. Pick a couple of statement pieces for your centerpieces. It can be one thing or a handful of things spread out across the table. We love using fresh flowers for spring and finding a unique vase to put them in. If you have kids and adults eating at the same table, be mindful of the decorations that you might be using. Sometimes it is easier to remove the decorations before you eat so that nothing gets knocked down and everyone can see each other.
  3. Be bold. Don’t be afraid to mix and match things to create a unique look. We love finding plates, platters and décor at the local thrift store. We mix and match the plates and dishes to create a fun and unique look. You can then use napkins or silverware that matches to tie everything together. For spring and Easter it is fun to incorporate carrots and other fresh vegetables with vibrant colors.  Sometimes, you can even find complete sets at the local thrift store. We found this table at the local thrift store and gave it a fresh coat of white chalk paint. Often, all it takes is a quick clean or coat of paint to turn a piece from drab to fab!
  4. Be resourceful. Whether it’s grandma’s special china or a friend that has some fun décor, don’t be afraid to ask friends and family to borrow some pieces to add the final touches to your table. When we were doing our Easter table, one of our friends shared that she had a huge Peter Rabbit collection. She said that she would love to let us borrow it because all it did was sit and collect dust. We had a few pieces of our own, but her collection helped set the tone for the party. The best part was that we didn’t have to buy it and at the end of the party, we didn’t have to store it.
  5. Stock up at the end of the season. Who doesn’t love a sale? Think about what you might want to do next year and when it goes on sale at the end of the season, grab it. If your local store does not have it, check online, or ask your local store if they would be willing to call other stores to see if they have the item you are searching for.The photos are from a birthday party that we did, but we love Peter Rabbit so much, we continue to use that theme as part of our Easter and spring decorations. Enjoy!
