“You’ve been BOO-ed!” Whether a friend, neighbor or even your own family, everyone loves to get boo-ed during this spooky season. We share themed baskets for every budget.
If you’re unfamilar with this fun way to surprise others, it’s simple. You fill a bag, or bucket, with treats and goodies along with a “you’ve been boo-ed” note and poem. You drop it off at a friend’s house or neighbor’s doorstep without being seen. Then the recipients forwards the act to others and so on and so on.
Spook-tacular Friends Boo Bag
Putting together a boo-bag for friends can be a little as $10. We grabbed a few simple items from Amazon like Halloween Light Up Necklaces, sticker books, free boo basket printables, poems and signs, activity sheets and games.
Taylor Swift made friendship bracelets desired by all, so we love the added touch of making themed-beaded bracelets for friends with spooky characters, colors and letters to spell sayings. We found a Halloween Bead Kit that allowed for us to make several bracelet options!
For added whimsy we included Foil Bat Balloons to draw a little more attention to the doorstep!
Fab-BOO-lous Family Fun
A boo basket idea for family members, or to give your kids, is one filled with pretend play and pjs so they can enjoy the Halloween fun all month long and not just for one night out trick-or-treating.
We love taking an outfit we already have and turning it into a costume or a costume that can turn into pretend play for a year-round bang for your efforts and dollars. Hanna Andersson has so many great options for Halloween. We love that they have taken their cozy organic pajamas and paired it with costume accessories. You can have three options: pajamas, Halloween costume, or creative play throughout the year. Some of our favorites are the mermaid skirt/headband and pajamas, unicorn tail/headband. Another fun option is to find an outfit you already have or getting an outfit that you will wear past Halloween and building a costume around that. We took this Odette collection black tulle dress and paired it with some costume jewelry for a Breakfast at Tiffany’s inspired costume.
Our kiddos also love Star Wars. From Darth Vader and Boba Fett hoodies that can be transformed into costumes or worn everyday to StormTrooper and Darth Vader pajamas. They even have Boba Fett for the Mandolorian fans.
Make Your Neighborhood Ghourd-geous
Even if you don’t have kids in the neighborhood, adults can get in on the tradition with a little more upscale twist. We love all the fall and Halloween decor from Balsam Hill.
Any neighbor would be thrilled to get a Succulent Harvest Pumpkin Foilage that could be used as a centerpiece or on a mantle. We love the Tabletop Heirloom Pumpkin set. You could break up the set and give one pumpkin to each neighbor paired a note or activity or you could elevate steps to a front door with all five multicolor pumpkins and maybe even mix in some Brass Fairy Light Lanterns.
We elevate our front door area with the Lit Stackable Jack-o-Lantern Set. It’s festive and welcoming and creates the perfect space for future trick-or-treaters or for when a neighbor returns a BOO-ed favor to your family.
