WINTER WORKOUTS AND GEAR

“SNOW” MUCH FUN AT BIG BEAR
Southern California finally got some much needed rain this weekend which translates to snow at Big Bear making it perfect timing for families looking for a day trip or fun retreat with upcoming winter breaks from school. Playing in the snow creates togetherness and special memories and our kids have been asking for a chance so we decided to surprise them with Snow Tubing!
Big Bear Snow Play is such a great option for a number of reasons including the fact that it’s geared for all ages and no lessons are required. It’s home to Southern California’s largest snow tubing hill and has eight open runs. You can purchase a day pass which is key for families because this gives a full-day of unlimited rides so you can pace how you feel best fit.
A tip for families is that Big Bear Snow Play provides two Magic Carpet uphill lifts, which are comprised of a large moving conveyor belt that transports riders to the top of snow-packed slopes. This is fantastic because it eliminate the stress of climbing the hill (especially if you have elementary or younger aged kids) which in turn provides opportunity for more downhill fun!
If you’re feeling a little more adventurous, not only is it open daily for snow tubing but on Friday, Saturday and holiday nights they have Glow Tubing! These sessions are sure to provide lasting fun.

If your family is a little more seasoned and looking for adventure a couple of our favorites are Mineshaft Coaster at Alpine Slide and of course skiing or riding the mountains! Unique twist to snow fun is one-of-a-kind thrill ride coaster that is built directly into the mountainside and cuts through the snow with tunnels, corkscrews and hair pin turns. Plus, the view from the top of the mountain is always breath-taking. Zip line over the snowy mountain or of course ski or snowboard Bear Mountain or Snow Summit.
Whether you are young or young-at-heart, lessons are great for any age looking to sharpen skills. Big Bear is a great place to learn with group and private lessons available.
