Opening ceremonies are this Friday and everyone is getting into the Olympic spirit. Gymnastics and swimming are the 2 most watched sports and both categories have veterans returning. We share ways families can train like the Olympians and get into all the Team USA spirit.

GYMNASTICS: KIDWONDER

Simone Biles is the most decorated gymnast in history as she’s headed into her third Olympic Games! I remember the 4-GOLD medals she won in Rio, she got 2 medals in Tokyo and many cannot wait to she what she does in Paris. This also sparks so much interest in Gymnastics for kids. From bars and beam, to rings, trampoline and even agility, getting your kids into a program where they learn and have fun is key to success.

KidWonder

KidWonder is San Diego’s first and only competitive American Ninja Warrior gym and while they excel in Ninja training, the gym offers much more, including gymnastics at all skill levels to open gym so families have the flexibility to practice at their own pace, Kinetissori programs for little ones under six, and camps for all ages.

Their philosophy is straightforward – a strong body leads to a strong mind. This belief is at the core of everything they do offering a unique blend of physical and mental challenges designed to foster growth, confidence, and skills. Plus we love that it’s a family-run business and they understand the importance of community. When you join KidWonder, you’re not just enrolling in a program; you’re becoming part of a family that cares deeply about the growth and development of your child.

SWIMMING: NOONAN FAMILY SWIM SCHOOL

Whether you swim for fun, or are on a team, all eyes will be on Katie Ledecky and Team USA at the pool in Paris. She has won 7 Olympic GOLD medals and when you add all her world championship gold medals she has the most in history for any female swimmer. Paris is her 4th Olympics and audiences can’t wait. In San Diego learning to swim is a must with the ocean and all the pools in the area. We love Noonan Family Swim.

Whether your kiddos are just learning how to swim or looking to refine their freestyle stroke to be the next Caleb Dressel, Noonan has a variety of programs to suit your family’s needs. With four locations throughout San Diego, Noonan Family Swim has a splash babies program where infants and toddlers can learn water safety and adjust to the water.  As children get older, they can learn all of the different techniques to excel in freestyle, backstroke and more. As parents, we appreciate that Noonan has so many great instructors and they really take the time to match your child based on their ability as well as finding an instructor that will be a good fit.  I’ve enjoyed seeing how Noonan has helped my children progress in their swimming and enabled them to be confident in their water activities. My children love working their way up through the different levels as they complete different skills and strokes.
