LEGO sets once again are what our boys have expressed they want the most and the girls can’t nail it down to just one favorite, they are in love with every plush, soft animal and purses and all things curated on the half wall at Del Mar Highlands including jewerly and dress up.

It’s may be more fun to give than to receive but some dining options are putting a meal in your pocket too. Whether you are looking for teacher gifts, secret Santa or stocking stuffers several restaurants are doing gift card deals.
Both Jamba Juice and Rubios have buy a $25 gift card and get a $5 reward for yourself. Plus other restaurants like Toasted is doing for every $100 gift card purchased get a $50 bonus gift certificate and places like Urban Plates and Pannini Kabob Grill do family style meals, which are great for those holiday parties or when family is in town.

HOLIDAY MOVIES & CINEPOLIS HANDPICKED
Thanksgiving weekend big box office time… and many families want to see the latest movies including tentpole films like Moana2, Wicked and Gladiator 2. Plus The Best Christmas Pageant and Red One are still on the silver screen helping families feel festive!
We love going to Cinepolis at Del Mar Highlands Town Center and sitting in the seats that recline, the option to have a server bring us a meal or treats and be fully engaged in the experience. We already have our eyes on “coming soon” titles and securing tickets for the next movie in franchises we can’t get enough of like Sonic 3 and Mufasa.
Moms, if you need time to shop Black Friday a tip would be have your husband or grandparents take the kids to a show so you can focus on the gifts needed at hand! Also mark you calendar for Cinepolis Handpicked Series each week in December where a favorite movie is only $5. Here is this year’s schedule (be sure to get tickets soon as usually sell out).

SANTA VISITS & HOLIDAY LIGHTS AT DEL MAR HIGHLANDS TOWN CENTER
So many families want to look at lights and take pictures with Santa but these can be pricey. One of our favorite FREE options is at Del Mar Highlands Town Center. If you are looking for a spot to take your children to see Santa and Mrs. Claus, You can take your holiday photos in Santa’s sleigh by Jimbo’s. In addition to Santa, there are lots of fun photo spots throughout the Del Mar Highlands Town Center including the Surfing Snowman by Jimbo’s, Surfboard Tree by Pop Jet Fountain and Delmer the Penguin in the Upper Plaza by Cinepolis. It is all part of their TistheSeaSun festivities.
We enjoyed strolling their festive decor and watching the Surfboard Tree Music and Light Show. The show is every 15 minutes from dusk until 9:00pm. Plus there are also free festive sing-a-long concerts in select days and a Menorah lighting too. For all the details, Del Mar Highlands.
