Each of us is guilty of it. We have hundreds if not thousands of photos on our phones or computers. Some of us are hopeful that one day they will be made into photo albums or scrapbooks. While others of us are perfectly content posting them on social media. But there is just something about having photos posted up whether they are professional shots or candids that warm up a room. We share some fun ideas to take your photos off your phone and into your home.
WATCH our TV segment here- Have a printer available. Whether it is a family outing, party or just a get together, having a printer can be a fun way to ensure that guests are printing the fun memories at the event. We love the HP Sprocket. It is a portable printer that is bluetooth enabled, so you can have guests or family members just send their photos to it and they are printed. The Zinc paper that it comes with has a sticky back so pictures can be posted or easily made into crafts. Best of all, it doesn’t need to have the ink replaced! The paper has ink in it. We find this option great too when we have family members or friends that don’t have smart phones (aka the grandparents). It is a quick and easy way to remember to send some pics home of their favorite grandkids. We already have requests for our friends and family members that want to borrow it for their photo booth at their next party.
- Make a fun frame. You can recycle an old frame or find one at a local thrift store. Then use hot glue to glue toys around the edge. Cars, legos, and puzzle pieces all look great. Just make sure that the kiddos don’t want to use that toy anymore! This is also a fun way to display some of those favorite toys without getting rid of them. We used some of daddy’s vintage cars from when he was a kid to make this frame.
- Make a bulletin board style frame. This can be done by finding an old frame with an ornate edge. Remove the glass and backing. Paint the frame in whatever color you desire. We love using chalk paint for a distressed/vintagey look. Then you string twine or ribbon across. You can use clothes pins or washi tape to affix photos on the string. This is a great way to rotate the photos from events or everyday life. We used HP Social Media Snapshots paper for this and an app to create a fun border on the photos.
- Make some coasters. These are great gifts for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, grandparents, or a housewarming gift. First, grab some smooth 3×3 or 4×4 tiles from your local hardware store. Then print out your favorite pictures. We used HP Social Media Snapshot paper. Make sure your printer is set to the correct setting. We used an app to create fun borders for our pictures. Next remove the back off the paper. It is like a sticker. Then used Modge Podge to do a thin surface on top of the photo and the tile. Don’t worry it dries clear. Just make sure it is smooth and not lumpy. You can put felt dots on the bottom if you don’t want your coasters to scratch anything.
We were given a HP Sprocket, HP Social Media Snapshot paper, and HP Zinc photo paper. All of our opinions are our own.
