DIY CLOSET: DECLUTTER & DESIGN

First we virtually met with an awesome designer who helped us maximize our closet space based on our wants and needs. From double hanging, to drawers, shelves, laundry pull out, shoe racks and valets… we had so much fun making the space more functional and stylish. We picked out color, style and hardware too. With our order placed, waiting for the shipment, meant time to demo and get our closet ready for transformation.

We installed and organized, and just check out the before and after photos! Every time I walk by, I get taken back by it’s grandness. There is so much space, and everything has a “home.” It’s like I have a whole new wardrobe because I’m seeing dresses and blouses I haven’t worn in years, not to mention handbags I forgot I had! We love the way our Modular Closet turned out so much!
STREAMLINE SPACES: PANTRY TO HOME OFFICE
It’s amazing how quickly a pantry or desk can go from clean to completely buried. One of things that helps us keep our pantry in order is having designated areas. We labeled our containers using Mabel’s Labels household labels. It gives you the ability to customize the labels. This is especially helpful in the snack area. My kids are able to help put the groceries away because they match the label to their favorite snacks. By having designated areas for each food item, I can also tell when I am running low on something.
We love using Mabel’s Labels for our home office and kids’ study space. From learning manipulatives to science project pieces, we use bins for each subject. Each bin has a corresponding label. This not only helps the pieces to not get mixed up, but it makes it easier for the kids to help put things away. I can also ask them to get the “Math” bin and they know which one to pull out because of the label. And spring time is also a good time to “refresh” some of those school supplies. We have the kids label their items so that they can keep track of them. The starter label pack is a great set to get as it comes with a variety of labels for clothing and supplies.
FLORAL ROOM REFRESH
Whether it’s your front porch, the family room or any area of your home, it’s incredible how swapping out florals or adding in new ones can really transform not only the area, but the feeling you have in it too. We turn to Balsam Hill for all their incredible real looking foliage and stunning florals.
The Cherry Blossom arrangement in Ivory adds the perfect height to elongate any area of a room while the Southern Charm Floral Arrangement is wider and looks great on a coffee table or a kitchen island. We tied in some color with the Rhapsody in Blue Floral Arrangement on the shelves of our entertainment center and the stunning Coral Garden Flowers give the perfect pop of color to usher in Summer.
Moving outside, the color of the year is magenta, and we’re embracing it! We absolutely love the Outdoor Vivid Blooms Foliage and hung the wreath on our front door which paired perfectly with the Magenta Dahlia Pot Filler. CLEANING: FROM FLOORS TO YOUR CAR
Most moms with small kids could probably agree they could sustain the city with all the crumbs and crud on the floors and in between car seats in the family vehicle. And while we would love to say, “no food in the car.” We all know that it would take a small miracle for that to happen. A cordless vacuum is a must and we love the Dyson Detect V15.
