If you like romantic comedies chances are one of writer-director Nancy Meyers’ movies tops your list. Her body of work spans more than two decades with titles ranging from Private Benjamin and Baby Boom, to Father of the Bride and Parent Trap, to more recently hits like The Holiday, Something’s Gotta Give, It’s Complicated and The Intern.
She’s worked with the who’s who of Hollywood from Robert DeNiro to Jack Nicholson, Diane Keaton to Meryl Streep, Steve Martin to Alec Baldwin, Kate Winslet, Cameron Diaz and the list continues to grow. But most recently she added her daughter Hallie Meyers-Shyer to the list.
She had cast her daughter as a child in some of her earlier films like Father of the Bride and Parent Trap, but their latest film Home Again marks the Hallie’s first feature that she wrote and directed with mom producing.
We sat down with the mother-daughter duo to learn more about parenting styles, personality traits, and passions. Plus we learned how Martin Short gave Hallie’s entire second grade class a tour of the Father of the Bride set and answered acting questions!
