Everything is awesome! Our families were beyond excited to attend Legoland California’s opening of LEGO Movie World. From building LEGO sets to riding LEGO-themed rides and meeting their favorite characters our children always look forward to getting to visit Legoland. Based on the blockbuster films The LEGO®Movie™ and The LEGO® Movie™ 2: The Second Part, the new land fully immerses guests into the LEGO movie universe and places them onto the streets of Bricksburg.
The land is the largest addition to the park and features six interactive attractions. The Family Entourage favorite was Emmet’s Flying Adventure Ride. Our entourage for the day included kids, parents and grandparents and we all enjoyed it! Riders hop aboard Emmet’s triple decker flying couch for a thrill-seeking adventure. Surrounded by a full-dome virtual screen, guests feel the sensation of flying above memorable lands such as Middle Zealand, Cloud Cuckoo Land, Pirates Cove and the Sistar System. You even smell different smells as you fly along. Along the way, riders will see some familiar faces including Sweet Mayhem, a star character from THE LEGO®MOVIE 2: The Second Part. Emmet’s Flying Adventure features cutting edge technology including a 180-degree turn in the ride experience.
We also enjoyed the new Unikitty’s Disco Drop. The new ride launches guests to the top of Cloud Cuckoo Land, then drops, spins and bounces them back down to earth, creating a thrilling and fun experience. Our little ones enjoyed riding Queen Watevra’s Carousel while their older siblings rode the other rides.
We also liked that there are several options if the lines are too long or you want a break from riding rides. Guests can explore Benny’s Playship, which is a fun play structure, splash in a splash pad or create at Build Watevra You Wa’Na Build zone. Our personal favorite was Emmet’s Super Suite, where you can meet Emmet and all his friends. There are two photo opportunities, one with the characters and then one with a green screen, which places you in the scenes from the movie! There are also lots of great photo spots throughout Bricksburg for your family to create their own memories.
And of course no trip to Bricksburg would be complete without tasty themed treats such as Cloud Cuckoo Crepes, Benny’s Rocket Fuel and Everything is Ramen throughout the land.
Before you go, make sure you check out all of the safety guidelines for the park.
Walking Bricksburg in Style
Whenever we go to a theme park we know that there is going to be quite a bit of walking involved and shoe choice is a top priority. When we found out that we would get to attend the opening of LEGO Movie World we thought it was only appropriate to wear Adidas x LEGO shoes. There are several different colors and styles to match your LEGO personality. The girls love Unikitty so they went with the toddler version in pastel which has Velcro making it easier for these independent fashionistas to put their shoes on themselves. The boys love Ninjago so they chose the black preschool version. We like that the shoes have hook-and-loop closure straps make them easy to slip on little feet. They are also made with Primegreen, a series of high-performance recycled materials. The kids’ favorite part are the LEGO details including, LEGO® brick-inspired Torsion bar supports the midfoot. We got our LEGO shoes from Dicks Sporting Goods. You can order them online or see if a store close to you has them in stock. The kids were convinced that they could run faster to all the rides because of their Adidas x LEGO shoes and they wondered if Emmet had LEGO shoes too.
Where are my pants?
Tonight on “Where are my pants?” It doesn’t matter how many times our families watch the LEGO Movie, they always crack up at this part. While we thankfully have never left the house without our pants on, one of things we enjoy about going to Legoland is the opportunity to display our style. With all of our favorite characters making an appearance at the Legoland LEGO Movie World event we knew we wanted to wear something colorful and fun. We love Appaman. From vibrant shirts with funky prints to madras button ups and tie dye shorts, there are so many options for all of your summer adventures. We especially love their latest collaboration with Ziggy Marley. It features a collaborative collection of feel-good vibes in ready-to-play styles. We also adore their jean jackets and lightweight bomber jackets. They’re perfect for cool summer nights or those dewy mornings. Our kids love expressing themselves with Appaman. From pineapples and tie-dye to hot dog button ups, they are one of our favorites to wear when we visit Legoland.
We were hosted by Legoland and given items by Dick’s Sporting Goods and Appaman for review. All of our thoughts and opinions are our own.
