LEGOLAND® California’s annual Brick-or-Treat Halloween celebration is back! This is one of our families favorite fall traditions. The Halloween festivities run Saturday, September 20 and 27 and continue on Saturdays and Sundays through October, with the final day on November 1. Kids of all ages are invited to participate in the fun, and for a limited time, kids can attend the theme park for free with paid adult tickets (restrictions apply – see LEGOLAND® California site for details).

This year, LEGOLAND® California’s Halloween Tree comes to life with moving eyes and eyebrows that follow guests as they enter the Park, accompanied by Halloween-themed audio. Made from 680,963 LEGO® bricks and over 4,000 hours of building magic by five Master Model Builders, this larger-than-life LEGO® tree features twinkling lights, cobwebs, ghosts, and playful pumpkins, making it a festive highlight of Brick-or-Treat. It’s 17-feet tall, 12-feet wide, and is the largest LEGO® creation by brick count. It stands near the entrance to greet guests as they make their way into the park for the fang-tastic party. When you stop to check out the tree, don’t forget to snap a photo with some of the characters that stop there. The LEGOLAND® app has a schedule of when the characters stop by.

Additionally, the LEGOLAND® Monster Party will be debuting at the resort for select weekend dates. The party will feature live shows, candy stations with treats provided by Haribo, meet-and-greets with LEGO® monster characters, and not-so-scary themed takes on LEGOLAND® attractions. Our favorite part is that all of the happenings are included with general Park admission and select annual passes.

LEGOLAND® Florida and LEGOLAND®New York will also be having Brick or Treat festivities. Make sure to check their sites for dates and location specifics.

Here are some tips to make your trip extra sweet.
- Take advantage of all the deals for Brick or Treat. LEGOLAND® is offering quite a few discounts, and you can check out the latest here. We recommend that if your family doesn’t get to the park that often, to do a full day if you can. This will give you ample time to ride rides and check out Mini-land. There are so many special and unique things that are part of Brick-or-Treat that once the event starts, you will want to be a part of those festivities. It can also get pretty busy for Brick-or-Treat, so anticipate lines being a little bit longer.
- Dress up! Make sure you check the weather report as you plan your costumes. If your children want to ride rides, you may want to have a costume that isn’t too bulky or that would be uncomfortable on any of the rides. Check out the event page to see what the themes are for the costume contest.
- Take in a show. The shows are a great opportunity to slow down, take a break, and have a snack or dinner. Make sure to get to the show 10-15 minutes early, as the shows fill up pretty quickly.
- Explore the park. In addition to all of the fun treat stations, there are lots of fun photo opportunities and characters spread out throughout the park to take your photos with. The park is decorated with fun lights and pumpkins, too, making for a festive backdrop for any photo. Some of our favorite spots in Miniland even had some spooky additions. Don’t forget to do the scavenger hunt that starts in Miniland information booth to earn your special limited edition brick!
- Pickup a guide or use the app. There is a special map of all of the Brick or Treat happenings. From festive food to photo stations with characters and building breaks, we appreciate how they have all the details to help you figure out what you want to see and do.
