Ack! Cape Cod Christmas: Nanducket
The shape of Nantucket, off the coast of cap cod looks a lot like a duck. So “Nanducket” was inspired by the famous airport ACK… nutcracker and heirloom duck collection plus it’s a symbol of bravery and empowerment for children through their brand.
Nanducket has the most adorable heirloom bunnies and ducks. The one-of-a-kind animals are handcrafted from fine velvet, chiffon, linen, and tulle. The animals each have different outfits and the clothing is interchangeable. For the holiday season, they have a Nutcracker Line of bunnies and ducks as well as dresses, sweaters and jackets that children can match in. Our girls loved dressing up and matching their ducks and bunnies. We even got to take our bunny to the Nutcracker.
We love the story of the founder and how she created Nanducket. Ten years ago, she had Bell’s Palsy. Her face was paralyzed and unlike many who suffer from the condition, she was only able to recover a small amount of movement. People treated her differently. As a mom, she would see this happen to kids who were different as well. Nanducket was founded to help people celebrate differences, feel empowered to be daring, and to use their strengths to help others.
