Who says the fun has to stop when the sun goes down? With fall sports in full swing and the days getting shorter, we’re always looking for creative ways to keep the kids active, bring teammates together and make the most of our evenings. Our latest obsession? A glow-in-the-dark wiffle ball party!
Whether you’re celebrating a baseball-loving birthday kid, planning an end-of-season team party or simply looking for an excuse to gather the neighborhood, a backyard whiffle ball game is an easy way to knock it out of the park. We took our love of baseball and added glowing equipment, neon sliding mats, plenty of baseball drip, team-sized pizzas and a treat station packed with goodies the kids could take home. The result is a party that’s just as much fun for the parents as it is for the players.
Here’s how to create your own ultimate glow-in-the-dark baseball party.
Light Up the Night
The star of the party is the glow-in-the-dark baseball game! We love the idea of taking traditional backyard wiffle ball and giving it a nighttime twist with NiteSport’s Ultimate Cosmic MVP Glow-in-the-Dark Baseball Bundle. We love that this set has everything you need – bat, balls and UV light.
NiteSport offers glowing plastic baseballs and bats that make it possible to keep playing after sunset. Their glow-in-the-dark baseballs can be recharged with a UV flashlight between innings, making them a fun option for nighttime backyard games. For our ultimate glow party, we’d set up a backyard baseball diamond with glow sticks marking the bases, neon decorations and a designated area for spectators. Wear neon or glow-in-the dark items too!
Family Entourage Party Tip: Start the party before sunset so everyone can warm up, choose teams and get familiar with the field. Once it gets darker, turn on the glowing baseball equipment for the main event! Keep the playing area well lit enough for everyone to see obstacles and each other.

Get Your Drip
Every baseball player knows that showing up with the right drip is half the fun! We love Drip & Rip for its colorful baseball accessories and gear. From premium batting gloves and sliding mitts to sunglasses, hats and Crystal Baller necklaces, there’s something for every player who loves expressing their personality on and off the field. The accessories also make great birthday gifts, team prizes and additions to your party treat station.
We love Drip & Rip’s quality. Their batting gloves use premium leather palm and overlay for exceptional feel, durability, and grip. They feature the baller Cuff System long cuff with reinforced wrist support, Drip-Lock™adjustable strap for a custom, no-slip fit, and Mesh-back venting helps keep hands cool inning after inning. They come in plenty of colors. So you can match your team or express your style.
Our boys recently started travel baseball and sliding mitts are essential. We love that the Drip & Rip sliding mitts are built for base paths. They have dual impact protective plates on the top and underside of the mitt , Drip-Lock™ velcro wrist strap — locked-in, no-slip fit, an elastic compression strap keeps the mitt secured during full-speed slides, and reinforced fingertip protection for headfirst slides.
Family Entourage Party Tip Finish the look with sunglasses, eye black and necklace. Drip & Rip’s sunglasses are engineered for the diamond with UV400 polarized lenses, full UVA/UVB protection, glare-killing clarity and wraparound polycarbonate frame. They provide great peripheral coverage for outfielders and hitters. They also have Vibe-Polar™ Lens Tech for true color and depth perception on fly balls. The boys liked matching their sunglasses to their batting gloves and sliding mitts for that true DRIP look. They paired it with the Drip & Rip GameFace Eye Black Set which has Pro-Grade Glare Protection. The eye black is sweat-proof, smudge-resistant formula and has a non-reflective matte finish to cut glare from stadium lights and direct sun. As parents, we love that it is made with skin-safe ingredients and is dermatologist-tested.

Slide into HOME
We first discovered Slide MVP when we wanted to help our son become more confident sliding into bases. It quickly became a game changer, not only for him but for our entire team. We brought the sliding mat to practice, followed the simple instructions and incorporated it into our regular drills. Of course, we had to turn it into a game! We brought gummy worms to reward players for getting “dirty” and successfully completing their slides. The kids loved learning together and encouraging their teammates. As a coach and mom, I appreciated having a consistent surface where players could get more repetitions without worrying about whether the grass was soft or bumpy.
Slide MVP’s neon colors are a fun addition to a glow-themed party. While they don’t glow in the dark, they will still pop with a UV light and can be a fun way to celebrate sliding into home base.
Family Entourage Party Tip: You can set up the Slide MVP on the side for people to practice diving catches while they wait to play.

Hit a Home Run
After running the bases, swinging for the fences and sliding into home, there’s one thing we can guarantee: the kids will be hungry! Pizza is always a winning choice for a birthday party or team celebration, especially when you’re feeding an entire roster. We’re bringing in Mr. Moto Pizza to handle the food so we can spend less time in the kitchen and more time enjoying the party.
Set up a pizza station with a selection of cheese and pepperoni pizzas, along with a few specialty options for the adults. Some of the fan favorites are the California Love, which has bacon, chicken, ranch and carmelized onion and the The Hulk which has Pepperoni, bacon, ham, sausage. The adults enjoyed Mission Blvd with Spinach, roasted tomato, garlic, artichoke, caramelized onion. Add bottled water, fresh fruit and easy grab-and-go snacks to keep everyone fueled throughout the evening.
Family Entourage Party Tip: Order enough pizza for hungry parents and siblings, too! This made for a fun finish to the wiffle ball game and birthday party.

A Favor That’s a Sure Hit
Skip the traditional party favor bags and create a baseball treat station that doubles as a fun activity! We love giving kids something they can actually use long after the party is over. Our baseball-inspired treat station combines Big League Chew Party Pack bubble gum, Mabel’s Labels personalized gear labels and Drip & Rip Game Face Eye Black
Family Entourage Party Tip: Here’s an easy way to turn personalized labels into a practical team gift. The Mabel’s Labels Party Pack includes 30 labels and six tags, giving you six sets to personalize. Choose a baseball theme, coordinate with your team’s colors and customize each set with a player’s name and jersey number.
Pair the labels and tags with a snack or a pouch of Big League Chew, and you’ve created a thoughtful baseball party favor that parents will appreciate just as much as the kids.

We were gifted items by NiteSport, Drip & Rip, Slide MVP, Mabel’s Labels, Big League Chew, and Mr. Moto Pizza. All of our thoughts and opinions are our own.
