Kicking off Father’s Day weekend and you don’t have a gift yet? No problem, we have a few ideas that will be a big hit with any age dad!
ADVENTURE AWAITS
Most Dads are always up for a little adventure! Whether dad is traveling this summer locally or even abroad, give him the only shoe he’ll need to pack, because it’s completely waterproof! Vessi has the perfect everyday knit sneakers that are comfortable, look good and completely protect from weather… they literally have every dad covered!
For Dads that take their dogs on walks, Vessi Everyday Collection helps feet stay dry and cozy when dealing with morning dew or unexpected puddles or for Dad’s that mow the lawn or love to garden, shoes are perfect for handling wet soil and tackling weekend yard work. In San Diego, Dads take plenty of beach walks where Vessi can keep feet from becoming wet and sandy, and then that can expand to any water activities from paddleboarding to kayaking, they provide waterproof protection and grip. The stretchy material feels more like wearing a sock than a traditional shoe too!
Two or my favorite uses for Dads are kids sports events — whether Dad coaches or is just cheering on his child, everything from soccer to flag football can have unpredictable field conditions. And the second is he’s prepared for all our family outings which include amusement parks and you know there is always one ride you get soaked on and then you’re soggy the rest of the day, but Vessi Weekend has got you! Did we mention there is no break-in period, they are comfortable right out of the box so you won’t get blisters or chafing, even with long days.
You could even pair the sneakers with a coupon for dad to do activities together with the family like “redeem to walk the beach” or “redeem for weekend getaway.” Vessi shoes are a must-have for anyone, especially dad, and they are stylish enough to wear between work and fun.
SUMMER CONCERTS
From Dad to Grandpa, the perfect gift to cross all generations is tickets to a concert this summer at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park. Not only is it the most stunning venue in all of San Diego, right on the Embarcadero surrounded by ocean and city skyline but there is something for everyone.
From the symphony performances of classics like Beethoven and Tchaikovsky, to movies like Field of Dreams and Star Wars, we love taking in the summer season at The Rady Shell. The Field of Dreams in Concert will be given its WORLD PREMIERE in San Diego on July 19, 35 years after the film’s debut in theaters. The classic film about “America’s National Pastime,” starring Kevin Costner, will have its score played live by the San Diego Symphony Orchestra while the film is shown on the screens of The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park, conducted by Nicholas Buc.
This year’s season will also include performances with the San Diego Symphony and Music Director Rafael Payare, artists like John Legend and Jason Mraz, jazz virtuosos like San Diego’s own Gilbert Castellanos, some of the world’s greatest Broadway talent including Audra McDonald, and more. Plus so many amazing concerts from Harry Connick Jr. and The Beach Boys. The hardest decision will be which concert to take dad to!
THE CAR ENTHUSIAST
Celebrate Father’s Day at the 11th Annual Car Show at Belmont Park. More than 150 classic cars, from muscle machines to vintage gems and custom racing marvels. Spend the day with the family and take in Mission Beach. The event is free and open to the community!
There will also be food specials across the whole park and even sip beer straight from the taps of a vintage Chevy Suburban. Plus after you take in the car show, why not take dad on the Giant Dipper or Tilt-a-whirl.
