FAVORITE FILMS & STAPLE SONGS UNDER THE STARS
One of our favorite venues in San Diego is The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park and December features a lineup of great performances. Not only is it the most stunning venue in all of San Diego, right on the Embarcadero surrounded by ocean and city skyline but there is something for everyone this holiday season.
The San Diego Symphony Orchestra will often take popular and classic movies and play the scores from the movie and the holiday season is no exception! This year, The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park lineup includes: The Holiday on December 12 at 6PM and Home Alone on December 13 at 6PM. Both dates will featuring the musical score from the movie performed live to the film by the San Diego Symphony Orchestra. The Holiday movie is one of our personal favorites. This would make for a great girls’ night out. Without a doubt, Home Alone is one of our family’s favorite movies. We watch it each year and for so many, as beloved as the movie is, the music is also just as special. This performance will highlight renowned composer, John Williams’ charming and delightful score.
Another great option at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park is Noel Noel: The Case of the Missing Letters . This year, the holiday favorite will return December 19-21 to the outdoor setting and features San Diego Symphony Orchestra, the voices of San Diego Master Chorale, San Diego Children’s Choir, and San Diego Musical Theatre Academy. The holiday favorite features Christmas classics, sing-alongs and holiday cheer all set to beautiful visual displays. Our family enjoyed singing along. There will even be a special appearance by Santa Claus
Our family enjoyed the interactive elements of Noel Noel. This year, something unusual is happening in San Diego this holiday season—Santa’s letters have disappeared. We can’t wait to see how the story unfolds! Noel Noel features Gary Fry’s original “Christmas in San Diego,” a song commissioned by the San Diego Symphony that captures the sights and sounds of our city at the holidays. In addition to The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park, the San Diego Symphony will also have other holiday performances, which are indoors. On December 11, Stocking Full of Christmas makes its debut at the Park Hyatt Aviara. Guests will be accompanied by their own Journey Elf through a one-of-a-kind holiday world where families will explore five immersive themed lands, each with its own enchantment. From handcrafted costumes sourced around the globe to stunning staging and storytelling, this luxury event blends holiday magic with five-star sophistication. Perfect for families, couples, and holiday enthusiasts alike, it’s an unforgettable way to celebrate the season.
Frozenland welcomes guests with an ice princess, her reindeer and a song that chills in all the right ways. Guests will be able to meet The Ice Princess and her Reindeer and enjoy a live performance. At Mrs. Claus’ Confectionary, sweet-toothed guests will be dazzled by Mrs. Claus. Guests can decorate cookies alongside Mrs. Claus as she sprinkles magic across her kitchen. In the Red + Gold Party room, ballerinas twirling on music boxes for a live performance. Guests will be invited to whimsical ballerina dance and photo opportunity. At the Elves’ Toy Shop, guests can visit with playful elves and build toys. Memories will be made with family and friends.
