Father’s day is one week away. Whether it is your dad, grandpa or even a special mentor or coach that is like a dad it is a great opportunity to share with them what they mean to you. Here are some fun ways that you can show dad that you love him. The best part is that you don’thave to just do it on Father’s Day. You could create a gift certificate and do some of these things throughout the summer too!
Make dad feel fabulous! Something fun to do is to put a shave kit together for dad or grandpawith his favorite products. It could be a new razor, a shaving cream or special lotion. We are surprising the dads of Family Entourage this year with these shave products from Gentleman’s Nod. They are handcrafted in small batches. Each fragrance is a nod to famous men in history like Jackie Robinson and George Washington.
Father & Son matching– Our little guy is still at an age where he likes to match dad. Whether you are headed to the beach or playing at the park, Coolibar has these great shirts and hats for dad and son. The best part is that they have UPF 50 built in to protect your skin. Whether it is sunny or overcast, it is so important to protect your skin and Coolibar has lots of great options. They also have some great Aloha shirts and polos if dad is hitting the golf course and doesn’t want to come back looking like a lobster!
Give dad the first class experience. A lot of dad’s travel for work so why not treat dad to a new luggage! Vessel Bags are made from the highest quality faux leather. The sleek trolley luggage boasts 360-degree wheels, a padded laptop sleeve, velour pocket for your valuables and you can even personalize it for dad. It is carry-on certified and with the minimalistic hardware the luggage is both durability and elegant giving dad a first class look regardless of his destination. It pairs perfect with the Signature 2.0 Duffel as it has a trolley sleeve allowing the bag to slip conveniently on to the suitcase. The stacking is lightweight and easy to maneuver in trip whether it’s by plane or car. Vessel believes each person’s life is uniquely “Filled with Purpose” and their bags are made for that journey.
If dad likes golf, he probably is already aware of Vessel as they got their start in the golf industry by making high-quality custom golf bags (and they still do, they’re gorgeous and definitely worth checking out) but then expanded by introducing a travel / lifestyle collection using the same high-quality materials used in their golf bags. We also love Vessel for the importance they place on giving back. For every bag sold, Vessel donates a backpack to a child in need. They partner with local schools and hospitals to help children in need. Some of our favorite celebrity dads like Stephen Curry and Mark Wahlberg love their bags too! Plus right now you can take advantage of their special Father’s Day promotion too, click Vessel Bags to see the offer.
Treat dad’s car to a cleaning! Now this is something you and the family can do together. You could have everybody get the rags out and wash the car. Or you could do what we like to do, drop the car off at San Diego Car Care. They will take care of the car from everything to detailing it to waxing it, making sure all of the crazy crumbs are out of the crevices and then you can go do something fun together as a family. We love going to the Del Mar Highlands location. We can drop off the car to get it cleaned and grab brunch or lunch together as a family.
Surprise dad with one of his favorites. It could be a favorite meal, a favorite hiking spot, or a favorite team. We love baseball and growing up my dad was my softball coach, and my number one fan. While Tom Hanks may say there’s no crying in baseball, we were always thankful for my dad on those tough days when we did get upset after the game. A gift that takes you back to your childhood memories, favorite smells and treats, will always be a homerun with dad.
Do something active with dad. It could be going on a hike, playing catch or even doing some yoga. We recently did yoga together as a family at the Four Seasons Residence Club-Aviara with Bobbi from Chi Universe . The kids loved trying new poses with dad. Bobbi created a yoga mat with symbols along with videos and an app so that kids and parents alike can learn how to do yoga and not feel intimidated. She has been featured in Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move LA Campaign and Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop. You can get dad and the kiddos a Chi Universe yoga mat for stretching after sports or a hard work week.
We were given items by Chi Universe Yoga, Coolibar, Gentleman’s Nod, San Diego Car Care and Vessel Bags. All of our thoughts and opinions are our own.
