Fall is all about the changing of the seasons and Family Entourage shares ways you can double the fun and maximize the season with simple twists to fashion, decor, activities and more!

Fall Fashions / Halloween Costume

Whether it’s sweatsuit, pajamas or play clothes your kids can wear comfortable, fun Hanna Andersson outfits every day but then by adding accessories like a unicorn horn, mermaid tutu, wings, ears or a tail… you can double the outfits as costumes for Halloween, or year round pretend play stretching your budget across the seasons.

We keep building to our collection but favorites always include a character pajama set — our boys love the Star Wars offering including Boba Fett and Darth Vader. Elf is a favorite and the whole family can get into the action with Buddy and Jovie sets.

From crayons to space suits, grinch to glow-in-the-dark, when these outfits are paired with high quality Halloween accessories it’s easy to create multiple ways to get into the spooky season or an extensive imagination.

Fall Cooking / Multiple Meals

Whatever your favorite meat might be, with festive fall cooking there are multiple ways to prepare a meal that will leave everyone wanting more. Take prime rib, it can be a formal dinner as a roast, or sliced and turn into a delicious lunch-on-the-go. It’s tailgate season so if you have left over hamburgers you can turn them into a seasonal pumpkin chili… picking out your favorite flavors from The Butchery is the best foundation for all.
Fall schedules fill up quickly with activities, sports and school functions. One of our double takes is meal prepping and creating a menu. We love The Butchery.

We have found that when we make delicious meals that taste like our favorite restaurants than we are less inclined to eat out.  The Butchery sources the highest quality meats and ingredients available from the finest Farms, Ranches and purveyors in the West. With three locations in Southern California — Crystal Cove, Costa Mesa and Del Mar — their butchers are trained and highly skilled, giving you the best cuts for your money, but also know they know their stuff when it comes to recommending the right choice for you and your family.

Prime Rib Recipe – We took prime rib, seared it and broiled it for 60+ minutes. We then paired it with our favorite sides like scalloped potatoes and salad.

Double Take – If you have any prime rib leftovers, slice the meat, toast a hoagie bun and enjoy. It’s really that simple!

The Butchery’s Prime Rib

Plus with Thanksgiving right around the corner, it is never too early to think about what you might be serving. The Butchery’s Prime Rib is an excellent option for the holidays. We have found that everyone likes something in addition to the traditional turkey.

Ground Beef Recipe – Impromptu tailgate party? No problem! Throw some burgers on the grill. The Butchery blend burgers are our family’s favorite. Grill to your preference, toast on pretzel bun (we found these at The Butchery), top with your favorite sides.

Double Take – if you have any leftover ground beef, make pumpkin chili. In crockpot or instant pot, add 1 lb ground beef, pumpkin puree, black beans, kidney beans and diced tomatoes. Immediately you’ll feel festive!

Fall Getaway / Family Christmas Card

Hit up a neighboring city, a seasonal spot, or even stay local… Fall is a time for getaways and while you enjoy a quick trip, have the location double for a family photoshoot! Flytographer connects you with local photographers in over 350 cities around the globe so you can capture fun memories from the places you visit, or get your family together and have a great backdrop for your photoshoot and use those pictures for your Christmas cards.

Flytographer International Destination Shoots

Flytographer makes it so simple on their website you literally pick the desired city, where you then can look at predetermined locations and routes within the city (or create your own!), you pick which photographer you align with when it comes to personality and style. You then check the calendar and email the photographer about the date and scope of shoot. Once confirmed, you can chat prior or meet on the day of the shoot and the entire experience is effortless (and fun!).

Flytographer hand-picks the community of local, trusted photographers. They hire less than 3% of those who apply ensuring quality, reliability and personality. They are affordable and the concierge service takes all the guesswork out of it.

We both picked beach locations in different cities — Kelli did “Most Booked” Treasure Island Park at Laguna Beach with Julia and Mei Ling did “Local’s Choice” Scripps Pier in La Jolla with Katie. We both had great experiences and can’t wait to choose another destination on family getaways.

Fall Decor / Personalized Holiday Decor

From Halloween parties to Trunk or Treats and classroom candy exchanges, we wanted to create some items that go beyond the one day holiday. We used the Cricut Maker to add some festive and personal touches to everyday items. The Cricut Maker works with 300+ materials, including popular materials like vinyl, iron-on & cardstock — plus felt, leather, matboard and more. It is the ultimate smart cutting machine. If you don’t want to worry about what vinyls and materials, then Cricut has a Maker Bundle as well.

Pumpkins

With our Cricut Maker 3, we created pumpkins that can be used for Halloween and Thanksgiving. We used Cricut Design space to find templates, paired it with vinyl and pressed it on to craft pumpkins. We especially love Cricut’s glow-in-the dark vinyl which really makes Halloween decor pop!

Personalized Totes

We love gifting personalized items and the holidays are always a fun time for this. But we want something that will go beyond Halloween. So we created a personalized tote bag using a Cricut blank tote, glitter iron on and felt. We used the Cricut Heat Press to add Iron on vinyl. We made a ghost bag tag and added some festive ribbons to make it a Boo Bag or treat bag for candy. But can easily remove the tag and use it year round. We also made stickers on the Cricut Maker using templates on Design Space and sticker. This is a great option to hand out instead of or in addition to candy!
