It started out like most days when we would meet to brainstorm about Family Entourage. We grabbed our coffees from the local coffee shop, the boys were in their strollers and we were ready to walk the neighborhood. Kelli and I enjoyed walking when the boys weren’t as mobile. It gave us a good opportunity to catch up and plan the website. We had gone a good distance, when I realized Sophie was missing! No, Sophie isn’t one of our kids. It is the beloved Sophie Giraffe teething toy.

She said, “Let’s retrace our steps to see if we can find it.” We had walked quite a bit so it might take awhile, but she said she didn’t mind. I was already trying to figure out in my head the closest store where we could replace it if we couldn’t find it. My little guy’s love for Sophie ran deep and I couldn’t imagine him going a day, especially when he was teething without her.

When I was first having my baby, everyone told me about how “I had to get a Sophie giraffe.” They told me about how it is magic especially when the babies start teething. I loved that she is made of 100% natural rubber and painted with food grade dyes so babies can chew and squish to their hearts’ delight. Sophie’s popularity extends to even some of our favorite celebrity mamas including Kate Hudson, Sandra Bullock, and Duchess Kate Middleton and Prince William.
We had walked about five blocks when we saw her! She was lying right by the sidewalk. The little guy probably flung her out of the stroller. We both breathed a sigh of relief that I didn’t have to go buy a new one.
