Whether it is a birthday, good report card or reward, we love celebrating at Legoland resort. Our families love LEGO and LEGOLAND. It’s only natural when we celebrate birthdays that they are a part of the celebration. This year, as we thought about what to do for a birthday party, we decided to do a small celebration with our family and a close family. We wanted to make it extra special since we weren’t doing a larger party, so we decided to go to Legoland. We loved seeing the kids light up when we told them what we would be doing and they had so much fun with their cousins and friends.
Here are some ways that our family makes a trip to Legoland special.
Share Your Message in Color!
We love making birthday signs or a sign saying we are going to Legoland in Duplos or LEGOs. It is a fun thing to wake up to and the kids love seeing what new thing we are going to do when we make the signs. We enjoy using the different colors of LEGO/DUPLO and even the characters to add to the sign. Unless of course you are Batman LEGO, then you work in black or very dark grey!
Don’t Forget the Special Event Days
From Brick or Treat to Holidays at the Park and New Year’s Eve, there are always lots of special themed days and events going on where kids can meet fun LEGO characters, watch shows and participate in activities around the park. Make sure to check the website for special event days and times.
We saw that LEGO Vidiyo would be doing a special event with DJ Llama, so we coordinated the trip around that day. The kids love the Vidiyo sets which use an app to bring your LEGO creations to life. Users can create a music video to their favorite songs using different LEGOs and tiles. At Legoland, the kids got to create a music video where they were the stars and get new tiles to add to their collection. Their favorite part was a show with a special performance by DJ Llama. They learned dance routines from the LEGO Dance Squad and even had some competitions. The birthday boy and girl were stoked to win a LEGO Vidiyo set for their dance moves!
Ride All the Rides
Our favorite thing to do at Legoland is of course to ride rides. The new LEGO Movie World is always our first stop. Currently, the family favorite is Emmet’s Flying Adventure Ride with Unikitty’s Disco Drop being a close second.
Based on the blockbuster films The LEGO®Movie™ and The LEGO® Movie™ 2: The Second Part, the new land fully immerses guests into the LEGO movie universe and places them onto the streets of Bricksburg. The land is the largest addition to the park and features six interactive attractions. The Family Entourage favorite was Emmet’s Flying Adventure Ride. Our entourage for the day included kids, parents and grandparents and we all enjoyed it! Riders hop aboard Emmet’s triple decker flying couch for a thrill-seeking adventure. Surrounded by a full-dome virtual screen, guests feel the sensation of flying above memorable lands such as Middle Zealand, Cloud Cuckoo Land, Pirates Cove and the Sistar System. You even smell different smells as you fly along. Along the way, riders will see some familiar faces including Sweet Mayhem, a star character from THE LEGO®MOVIE 2: The Second Part. Emmet’s Flying Adventure features cutting edge technology including a 180-degree turn in the ride experience.
Say Cheese!
Our personal favorite photo spot is Emmet’s Super Suite, where you can meet Emmet and all his friends. There are two photo opportunities, one with the characters and then one with a green screen, which places you in the scenes from the movie! There are also lots of great photo spots throughout Bricksburg for your family to create their own memories.
Throughout the park, we love taking photos with the different LEGO creations especially when the park is decorated for different holidays. It is fun to look back at our visits over the years.
Keep the Fun Going at Home
The gift shop at Legoland has several LEGO sets that aren’t available in stores. We enjoy looking at all of the different sets. We often encourage the kids to save up their birthday or gift money and then they can use it to buy one souvenir. They bring that set home and then we work on it together as a family. One of our favorites is the official Legoland LEGO set with rides that you can build from LEGOs.
We were hosted by Legoland. All of our thoughts and ideas are our own.
