Oftentimes there are alcoves, cutouts or odd shaped places in our homes that leave us wondering how to style the space. We had a recessed area that we were determined to take from blank alcove to elegant entry hall and Lowe’s was crucial to the transformation.
Here are some tips when it comes to styling a space:
π Measure area
π Select what type of furniture based on dimensions
π Select artwork or mirror for backdrop
π Add items with height like greenery or florals
π Pick color or theme and add items to round out
For our alcove it all started with a staple piece of furniture, Qualler Rustic Espresso Console Table. The dimensions worked perfectly for our space and we really liked the wood color and design with the multiple drawers and the bottom shelf. We knew we’d be able to stylize with many options.
We chose to put a large piece of art on the wall. Depending on where you space is located art is always a great option, framed photos or a giant mirror. Here are some of our favorite options for backdrops:
- Arch Gold Frame Wall Mirror
- Brushed Gold Framed Wall Mirror
- Abstract Wall Art
- Metal Starburst with Cutout Design Abstract Wall Sculpture
When it comes to stylizing the table and shelf… you’ll have to try colors, themes and varying height options. We went for a large vase with sparse greens shooting out to add the desired height on end. Florals are always a great option and then pair it with picture frames and decorative items. Stacked books, a staple pillow or throw blanket and candles or lantern lights are great go-tos as well. Here are some options to start with:
- Artificial Orchid Plant
- Green Indoor Eucalyptus Artificial Plant
- 3 Candle Glass Lanterns
- Gold Stone Modern Sculpture
- Decorative Globe
- Livabliss Anders 22-in x 22-in Cream/Charcoal Indoor Decorative Pillow
