Picture Perfect
Whether it’s a coming home outfit, baby’s first picture or holiday photos, we love Feltman Brothers.Their outfits are classic and timeless. From knits to pin-tucked dresses and even matching bonnets, it is a great option too for a baby shower present. Their pintucks are hand-stitched, giving it that timeless, vintage style.We initially got a knit dress for our baby due the end of October as a coming home dress. We had to save it for a couple weeks later as it was over 100 degrees the day we brought baby home. Over the years, we have used Feltman Brothers for several of our family photos. We also love seeing different ways people frame the outfits and then pass them down through the family.
From Head to Toe
One of the things I loved receiving for my baby girl was bows. Even for the baby that seemingly has “everything,” a gift of bows will always be welcomed. We were thrilled when we found Milledeux, a family-owned business based in Denmark. Named after their daughter Emilie and their two dogs, Milledeux uses nickel free metal, certified OEKO-TEX® ribbon and only hairstylist-grade alligator clips with no teeth, but strong enough to stay put in the thinnest of hair and even very short hair. Plus can we talk about the styles from ballerinas and nutcrackers, to glitter presents and bows, even pencils and lollipops!We love that it is a family-owned company and they use nickel-free and teeth-free clips so hair is not damaged. From elastic headbands perfect for baby to clips and headbands for when they get older, they come in a wide range of styles and colors so that your budding fashionista will always have something to accessorize her outfit with.
From play clothes to Parisian perfection, we love Petit Confection for our little ones. They are perfect for dressing up or playtime with friends. They have some great outfits and shoes for your little ones that are great for the resort, a dinner out on the town or for wanting to look fabulous poolside. We cannot get enough of their swiss dot caftan dress. We pretty much need it in our size too! The material is lightweight so your little fashionista can look fabulous even if it is hot out. We also love their tunic sets. The flutter sleeves and pom pom trim are too cute. We can’t get enough of baby’s toes in Petit Confection sandals and moccasins. They have so many great styles and colors to choose from for all of baby’s outfits. Your baby will look stylish literally from head to toe.
Gift of Sleep
Sleep can be hard to come by in the first few months or even year of the baby’s life. We were told to swaddle and shush the baby to mimic the feeling of being in the womb. But we will readily admit that we had a hard time swaddling our baby. Folding a blanket like that is like making an origami project. When we discovered the Ollie Swaddle it helped us swaddle our baby with ease. We love the founder’s story of how she tried every swaddle on the market when she was a single foster parent. So she created her own! We love that the fabric is moisture-wicking and it grows with the baby so you don’t have to buy multiple sizes. There is an opening at the bottom so you don’t have to worry about those evening diaper changes. And it is machine washable so even if baby has a blowout, you can easily be ready for the next nap. Ollie World has recently added Dailies to their line, bodysuits that are designed to combine with the Ollie for keeping your little one dry. They have a patented moisture-wicking threads interwoven into the fabric to reduce the risk of overheating. The thread also makes it more durable.
For the Sibling(s)
Adding a new family member, as exciting as it can be, can sometimes be challenging for the sibling. When we were pregnant with our second, we were looking for something that big brother could do while mommy had to tend to the baby. We discovered Osmo.It is an app-based system that works with your iPad or Fire Table. From coding to learning math and how to draw your favorite Disney characters, we love that it has a wide-range of games for all ages. Rather than sit in front of the TV, we love that it is a positive screen time option, where they are learning STEAM-based skills and having fun. The Little Genius Kit is geared for kids 3-5 and Genius Kit is geared for kids 6-10. Each set has pieces so that it is a hands-on learning approach. The sets come with multiple games and several levels within the games.
For Mom
Even though baby will be the center of attention, we can’t forget about celebrating the mamas! From carrying the baby for 9 months to going through labor for hours, she deserves a treat. Isabelle Grace Jewelryis a great “push present,” gift for the mama-to-be or new mom. They have personalized bracelets and necklaces that you can put initials or names. Each of the pieces is beautiful and truly something mom will treasure. From necklaces to rings, there are so many options of how you display your love for your child. We think this can also be a thoughtful gift to grandma as you share the news with her, she can open a necklace with the initials of her grandchildren.
Whether it is your first child or you are managing a mini-sports team, it can be hard to remember all of the details of life. We love Corie Clark planners and desk collection notepads. From creating goals for our family and marriage to just figuring out the daily/weekly to do lists, we love how they help us remember the details. We love using the Desktop collection for meal planning. We write down the meals for the week and then the items that we need. It is also helpful to keep out on the counter when we have a busy week. We can track any activities or events that we have going on as a family. When baby number two came for us, we had some family members that helped us care for big brother. It was helpful to have a place where we could write down his schedule, reminders and meal plan for everyone.
One of the beautiful tensions new moms face is the supply and demand of a hungry baby, milk that might not be coming in as quickly as needed, and a nursing mom’s hunger. We discovered Milky Mama with our second baby. They have the yummiest cookies, brownies and teas all that in helping increase your milk supply. They are made with flaxseed, Nutritional Yeast and other galactagogues that are the perfect snack for nursing moms. It is so important for nursing moms to be drinking liquids, but let’s face it water can get boring after a while. We loved the Pumpin’ Punch and Lactation Lattes. The lattes will give you your “coffee fix,” while helping you create milk at the same time.
Coming Home
When I was looking for an outfit to bring my babies home in I opted for something that was soft on their skin and lightweight as they were both born when it was very hot outside. Bird & Bean has the most adorable “coming home” outfits and pajamas for baby. Their fabric is made of Modal and spandex, which makes it super soft, doesn’t shrink or pill, and is long-lasting. All of their products are lead-free and safe too. The kids especially love Bird & Bean’s whimsical prints that feature ocean animals, safari, rainbows and more. We love the twirl dresses especially on hot days. The kids can play, look cute and not overheat. And they even have bigger sizes so that sibling or cousins can match baby.
One of the challenges of parenthood is car seat installation. We remember reading all of the pamphlets and still feeling unsure if we had installed the car seat correctly. Stroller Spa not only offers car seat installation services but also car seat and stroller cleaning. They are Certified Car Seat Installation Service certified by Safe Kids Worldwide. This is a great idea. It keeps your gear not only looking and smelling nice, but helps it last longer too. They use eco-friendly supplies to get the grime, crumbs and spit-ups out. Think of it like a car detail service but for your little one’s ride. They also include a tune-up as part of the service. For those looking to purchase a car seat or stroller, they have a wide-range of styles and types to choose from as well as all of the accessories you might need.
