Cooking Date! Pasta making, macaroons, cupcake filling, baking shortbread and decorating are just a few of the fun things you can do at a cooking class at Sur La Table. Cooking classes are a great family activity to have fun, learn how to make a new dish and spend quality time together. They have lots of great cooking classes for kids, families and date night. They even have Valentine’s themed classes. We love picking a class to make a dish that we don’t know how to make but want to try.
Get Crafty Date! One of our favorite things to do is craft our Valentine’s day cards for our classmates and friends. But we also know that can be daunting and overwhelming. Paper Source has great kits that kids can do on their own or if they are a little younger with the help of an adult. From paper flower bouquets to Valentine’s Day decorations, there are some fun kits that you can use as a family date night activity. You can even couple the card that you make with the new recipe you learn in the cooking class and surprise some friends this Valentine’s day.
Looking Dapper – Getting kids to dress up can be challenging, but our kids love Appaman. They can express their own style and look great. From button ups and blazers to funky bowties, we let the boys pair their dressy look with corduroys and skinny jeans. The girls will shine on their night out with mom and dad. So many schools do father/daughter or mother/son dances and Appaman is great for dressing up.
Giving a Gift of Love – We know that Valentine’s gifts are often flowers and chocolates, but we love gifts that give back and these shoes from Seecaas are no exception. As moms we are constantly running after our kids, but we still like to look stylish. A proceed from every pair of shoes sold will go into the Seecaas Hope for Adoption Foundation. The purpose of the foundation is to assist and support the financial barrier by providing grants to people who choose to grow their families through the adoption process. We love that they are helping children find their forever families because adoption can cost approximately $40,000.
Cute as a Candy Heart – We love family coordinating outfits and Valentine’s Day is no exception. Whether it is mommy and me or matching with siblings or friends, Wildflowers Clothing Co. has the most adorable dresses, jumpers and outfits. The vibrant colors and prints will brighten everyone’s day and we love all of the details like the buttons and mix and match patterns.
Finishing Touches – No Valentine’s look is complete without a heart or a bow. From hearts, love letters, to barrettes with LOVE, Milledeux has the most adorable bows for your girls and even mama. We love that it is a family-owned company and they use nickel-free and teeth-free clips so hair is not damaged. They come in a wide range of styles and colors so that your budding fashionista will always have something to accessorize her outfit with.
We were given items by Sur La Table, Paper Source, Appaman, Seecaas, Wildflowers Clothing Co and Milledeux. All of our thoughts and opinions are our own.
