5 Tips for Making Legoland Brick-or-Treat Extra Sweet!

If you are looking for something safe and fun for your family to do this fall, a trip to Legoland for Brick-or-Treat is a great option. It runs the last Saturday of September and each Saturday in October. In addition to all of the rides and fun that Legoland has throughout the year, guests can enjoy live entertainment, costume contests, treat stations with more than 1 million pieces of candy, a Pop Badge Challenge and Character Meet and Greets.

We share some of our tips to make your night extra sweet!

Take advantage of all the deals for Brick or Treat. From buying early bird tickets to having a Brick-or-Treat sleepover, there are quite a few different specials Legoland is offering. Check out the latest here.We recommend if your family doesn’t get to the park that often, to do a full day if you can. This will give you ample time to ride rides and check out Mini-land. There are so many special and unique things that are part of Brick-or-Treat, that once the event starts, you will want to be a part of those festivities. It can also get pretty busy for Brick-or-Treat so anticipate lines being a little bit longer.

Dress up! Make sure you check the weather report as you plan your costumes. The day that we went it was warm for the first couple hours and then cooled off considerably. If your children want to ride rides, you may want to have a costume that isn’t too bulky or that would be uncomfortable on any of the rides. As much our little guys wanted to wear their Shark, with a huge mask and Buzz Lightwear, complete with wings, we encouraged them to wear something that they could get on their favorite rides in. We opted for a football player and cheerleader and Emmit and Unikitty, which was a simple jersey, cheer outfit, Emmit sweatshirt and tutu and Unikitty shirt. We brought jackets for when it cooled off. We saw lots of amazing costumes that were competing in the Costume Contest. Check out the event page to see what the themes are for the costume contest.

Costume Contest & Pumpkin Crepes

Take in a show. This was one of our favorite parts of the evening. We loved grooving along with Monster Mash. The 15-minute dance show is a great opportunity to slow down, take a break and have a snack or dinner. You can grab one of the season specials like pumpkin crepes or mango chili shake and sit and watch the show. Make sure to get to the show 10-15 minutes early as the shows fill up pretty quickly. After the show, you can take photos with the characters. Our little guys preferred waving from a distance. As much as they love their LEGO pals, they preferred just seeing the LEGO Vampire and Mummy and not getting too close to them.

Explore the park. In addition to all of the fun treat stations with the 1 million pieces of candy, there are lots of fun photo opportunities and characters spread out throughout the park to take your photos with. The park is decorated with fun lights and pumpkins too, making for a festive backdrop for any photo. Our favorite was just taking a photo by the pumpkins.

Stroll or carry? We both opted for our strollers that evening. I would have preferred to have put the baby in the carrier, because the park got pretty busy and having to navigate a stroller through congested walk ways can get tricky. We brought the strollers in case the babies fell asleep and it was also a nice catch all to put jackets, candy bags and water bottles in.
