FESTIVE PARADE AND PARTY DECOR
From pennants to wave and totes to collect candy at the holiday parade to personalized shirts and hats for the family, or decor for the home, why not get in the patriotic spirit by crafting items together as a family. For 4th of July, we decided to make some totes, hats and shirts. We found some great projects on Cricut Design Space. Our kids enjoyed finding designs on Cricut Design. We especially liked the Candy Target design. This would be fun on a shirt too, but we decided to put it on a tote for the parade. They personalized the items by picking out the vinyl colors for their shirts. They made hats and shirts they could rock at the parade or watch the fireworks. Then we used the Cricut Maker to cut the Smart Iron-on material. We then used our Cricut Easy Press and Cricut Hat Press to iron on the designs.
We also used the Cricut Maker to make some patriotic decor. We made a banner and centerpiece with glitter cardstock. We added a chipboard backing to our centerpiece to make it last throughout the years. We love that the Maker cuts even chipboards with precision.

HOLIDAY-INSPIRED GRILLING
Celebrating America can stretch all the way to your side dishes. One of our favorite dishes to make is a flag charcuterie plate using fruit like strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries. Another fun dish to have on hand are edible sparklers. Use skewers and put your favorite fruits like strawberries, melon, cherries, and grapes on it. You can cut a melon with a cookie cutter into a star. Put it in the freezer for a cool treat. You can even use the watermelon rind to display all of the sparklers. What is fun about both of these dishes is that they are easy enough for kiddos to help prep too!
