We all know the saying, timing is everything — so incredibly true and so unbelievably hard to predict. We think we know what is best, and we want things to happen on our timeline but life rarely turns out the exact way we plan for it. Just ask Emmy Award-winning actress Patricia Heaton.

If it were up to Heaton, she would have started her career twenty years earlier. It took her a long time to establish herself and make a living as an actor, and at one point she thought it might not even happen.

“…it wasn’t until I got married and started having kids and then things started gelling, and I’m so happy that is the way it went.”

The real life mom of four boys has since been able to be on two long-running shows of really high quality, Everybody Loves Raymond and The Middle, which is in it’s farewell season.

Now she is lending her voice to The Star. It’s an animated version of the nativity story told through the eyes of animals. Heaton is thrilled to be part of a family film that actually tells the true meaning of Christmas.

Watch our interview to hear what Heaton has to say about her career and moving to Los Angeles when she was 29 with no agent!
