This past Friday, Disney brought the beloved characters of the Lion King “to life,” with its latest movie. Whether you are headed to the movie theater or are enjoying a night in with the family, these Lion King inspired snacks will help make sure your family’s stomachs aren’t roaring!

We wanted to use simple recipes that you could recreate at home with your family because you don’t want to spend hours in the kitchen cooking, sometimes that time is best spent enjoying a movie with your family. We love recipes and ideas that the family can do together. There are so many great memories that you can create while teaching your children how to cook and prepare food. Plus, they get more excited about the meal when they help out.

Simba’s Sandwiches-Getting kids to eat their fruits and vegetables can be challenging and we are always looking for snacks that the kids can help us make. These sandwiches achieve both! We used Ozery Baking Rounds which have hearty whole grains, fruits and seeds in them as the base. Their banana cocoa snack rounds are delicious. They also come in other flavors too. If you are wanting something sweet you can use peanut butter and put it on top of the round and use fruit to make Simba’s face. If you prefer salty, use hummus and vegetables to make your lion’s face.

Pride Rock Parmesan Bite tree-We took Brazi Parmesan bites and formed them into Pride Rock. You could also do a tree or Circle of Life. Bottom line is these bites are like little bites of heaven! They are Brazilian cheese bites and we love that they are a great gluten free option. They also come in other yummy flavors like 3 Cheese Pizza, Garlic Asiago and Cinnamon Churro.

Nala’s Chicken N’ Waffles- The hint of sweet from waffles coupled with chicken makes this a great appetizer. We used Kidfresh Chicken Nuggets and their waffles to make this appetizer. We love Kidfresh because they have hidden veggies! The chicken nuggets are made of white chicken meat and pureed cauliflower and the waffles have hidden butternut squash. You can cut them them up into bite size pieces or use a heart shaped cookie cutter so that everyone could “Feel the love tonight.”

Rafiki’s Bakora Staff S’more Station-Summer movie nights call for s’mores. But this s’more station takes it to another level with Smashmallow marshmallows. Guests can choose from different marshmallow flavors including Cinnamon Churro, Strawberries & Creme, Mint Chocolate Chip, Toasted Vanilla and more. They are gluten free. Place out sticks to roast, graham crackers and chocolate and your guests will be singing Hakuna Matata in no time.

Timon & Pumba’s Bug Dessert Cups-You could make this from scratch, but when someone else has and it tastes so good, why not just add some gummy bugs and make it look like you baked in the kitchen all day? We took Brothers Desserts brownie ice cream sandwiches, put them in a cup and mashed them up. They come in Mint Chip and Vanilla Fudge Swirl flavors. We added gummy worms to create Timon and Pumba’s favorite snack, bugs!
