KACHOW! Cars is Coming to Town

KA CHOW! If you have a son, grandson, nephew, or a little guy in your life, chances are that the obsession for Lightning McQueen runs as deep as a little girl’s devotion to Anna, Elsa, or any of the Disney princesses. Needless to say, we can’t wait for Cars 3 to come out this June. In the meantime, if you haven’t heard, Cars is touring the country stopping in over 27 cities.  Fans can get up close and personal with life-size, character look-alikes of Lightning McQueen, Cruz Ramirez, and Jackson Storm. The best part is that the tour is free and open to the public! For guests wanting to “Fastpass” the line, a limited number of “Race Lane” tickets are available for purchase and allow guests to skip the line. The tour is presented by Alamo, Coppertone, Crest, Oral-B, Mattel and Dole.

Some fun ideas for the Cars Tour

  1. Make it a family day. If grandparents, aunts/uncles and cousins are close by, have everyone meet up at the event. This is especially fun if you have a relative that is a car enthusiast. For us, that is “Pop pop,” or grandpa. In addition to seeing your favorite Cars characters displayed, you will probably learn some things about racing and cars that you didn’t know before. Grab a meal together afterwards and share what your favorite part of the day was.
  2. Remember to bring your video or camera to capture the memories. This will enable you to remember the day and when a certain someone is missing Lightning McQueen you can print the picture out and show them their special day.
  3. Have a Cars marathon before you head out for the tour and see the third movie. Grab some of your favorite movie snacks and have a family movie night. If you are up for it, invite friends or another family to join you for movie night.
  4. Have a family race day. While not everyone may be able to drive a car yet, have a race where everyone can participate. It might be a bike ride, Matchbox car or potato sack race. Whatever you decide, have fun with it.
  5. Create your very own Radiator Springs game. We loved this little DIY from Disney Family. Click here for the  printables.
